Botox in Mooresville, North Carolina

Botox is a prescription medication used to treat a variety of medical problems. It can also be used cosmetically to help lessen the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines. Botox can reduce wrinkles on several areas of the face, including the forehead, nose, and around the eyes.

We offer consultations to help get to your desired goals

Most Botox procedures are fast and painless with no recovery time needed. Before receiving Botox, you’ll consult with a health specialist. They will examine your skin to determine if you are a good candidate for this cosmetic solution.

To perform a Botox procedure, we will use a fine needle to inject the serum into your skin. Botox is injected directly into the areas of your face where you want to lessen the appearance of lines or wrinkles. While individual results may vary, most patients notice an improvement in their skin within a few days. Full results may take up to two weeks to appear, and they will gradually wear off over the next few months.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Botex Services In Mooresville, NC.

Question: What is Botox? –Miriam, Lake Norman, NC

Answer: Botox, short for botulinum toxin, is a purified form of the neurotoxin which causes a kind of food poisoning known as botulism. When ingested, botulism can make people extremely ill or even cause death. However, when injected into the skin in tiny doses by properly certified Botox providers, it can help smooth and relax facial muscles, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and even treat migraine headaches!

Question: How does Botox work? –David, Mooresville, NC

Answer: Botox injections work by blocking the nerve signals sent between the facial muscles and the brain. When facial muscles contract in key places, such as around the mouth and eyes, between the eyebrows and on the forehead, they can lead to frown lines, crows’ feet and wrinkles. Because blocking these signals temporarily paralyzes the nerves in a relaxed state where they cannot contract, the skin above relaxes and softens, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Question: Are botulinum injectables, such as Botox, safe? –Melody, Huntersville, NC

Answer: When administered by a properly trained, board-certified physician like Reshape’s own Dr. Anthony Macasieb, Botox and variant forms are very safe and effective. Many people have heard horror stories about botched Botox injections at “Botox parties” and similar events. However, these problems almost universally arise from untrained, unlicensed and unskilled people performing Botox injections. When you get Botox or other dermal filler treatments in an appropriate clinical setting, the likelihood of side effects or problems arising from the treatments is very low. Be sure to tell your provider about any medical history or issues you may have, to help prevent side effects from occurring.

Question: What can I expect during my treatment? –Mikhaila, Davidson, NC

Answer: During your treatment, your provider injects Botox directly into the muscles beneath the skin in the areas you want to smooth out using a very tiny needle. Most people do not even notice the injection because the needle is so small. Once the injections are complete, you should be able to resume your regular daily activities immediately. Botox is generally well-tolerated, but your provider will give you a specific list of aftercare considerations tailored to your individual needs.

Question: What is the downtime after treatment? –Lance, Denver, North Carolina

Answer: Most people don’t need any downtime. In rare instances, some people do experience side effects such as swelling, headache, nausea, flu-like symptoms or temporary paralysis in muscles adjacent to the nerves which were treated. In these cases, downtime for recovery at home may be necessary, but these side effects only happen in around 1-2% of all patients.

Question: How many treatments will I need? –Ilse, Lake Norman, NC

Answer: Each patient is different. Some patients get excellent results after only 1-2 treatments, while other patients may undergo several in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures such as fractional resurfacing laser treatment and laser hair removal or hair restoration to restore their youthful appearance and combat signs of aging. Before starting treatment, you and your provider will work together to establish a treatment plan which works for you.

Question: How soon will I see a difference? –Frederick, Mooresville, NC

Answer: Some patients begin to notice results as soon as 24 hours after treatment. However, most patients begin to see the full effect around 3-5 days after treatment.

Question: How long do the results last with Botox treatment? –Evelyn, Denver, NC

Answer: The results of Botox injection may last as long as a year or begin to fade after three months or so. Spending a lot of time in the sun, excessive frowning or laughing, developing signs of skin cancer such as melanomas, certain types of hormone replacement therapy and smoking or drinking can all mitigate or reduce the effectiveness and duration of Botox. Your personal habits, lifestyle, ethnicity and genetics will play a large role in how long you can expect your Botox results to last.

Question: Do Botox treatment results differ? –Deanna, Huntersville

Answer: As with any other cosmetic dermatology or medical procedure, individual results may vary. Most people will see good, long-lasting results. Some may experience side effects ranging from mild to severe, or in rare cases get no results at all. While our medical spa personnel are well-versed in administering treatments such as Botox, and can generally anticipate what the most likely outcomes of treatment will be, there is never any such as thing as a sure thing until you actually see the results for yourself.

Question: What will happen to the moderate to severe frown lines between my brows if I choose not to continue treatments? –Jeff, Lake Norman, NC

Answer: Over time, the Botox effects will wear off. Your nerves will begin to process signals between the muscles and brain normally, meaning they can contract and relax again. Eventually, the lines will return, but their appearance should be reduced moderately to significantly. In rare cases, some patients may notice accelerated aging in the areas where the treatments were performed, but this is about as frequent as people having side effects of any kind from Botox treatments.
