Cognitive exercises for individuals especially older adults can help keep their minds sharp and alert while minimizing the risk or actually delaying the onset of age-related dementia. Engaging in mind stimulating activities for seniors like card games and puzzles or even hobbies can improve their quality of life while boosting cognitive ability.
Even the sharpest seniors show small signs of cognitive decline. Memory, processing speed, and reasoning all tend to decline gradually as one becomes older, even for those who do not have any other brain-related diagnosis. For others, cognitive decline occurs more quickly and is the result of an illness or a condition like Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or Huntington’s disease.
Mr. Rife works with the individual during their sessions, engaging them in a series of cognitive activities to spark those areas mentioned above. After the session, the individual is sent home with a plan of care based off of their individual hobbies and interests as well as some new activities for them to engage in, thus providing the individual with the stimulation they need for their brain.
